2012 Annual Dinner
Just a reminder that the Club’s Annual Dinner is approaching fast. It will be held on Thursday 8th November at the Savoy.
This is a fabulous evening and I encourage you to attend. The charge of £110 includes drinks beforehand, dinner with wines, port and brandy. Payment may be by cheque or BACS. Dress: Black Tie, 6.45pm for 7.30pm. The formal part of the evening should finish by 10.30pm.
Our Guest of Honour is The Rt. Hon Sir Jeremy Hanley, KCMG. Sir Jeremy was a Government Minster for over 7 years and his posts included: Cabinet Minister without Portfolio whilst Chairman of the Conservative Party; Minister of State for Foreign Affairs (responsible for Hong Kong and the Middle East); Minister of State for the Armed Forces at the Ministry of Defence and Under-Secretary of State for Northern Ireland as Minister for Health & Social Services; and Minister for Agriculture and for Education and Political Development. He now serves on the Boards and Audit Committees of a number of quoted and unquoted companies. He will talk on “James Hacker, Myth or Reality?”
There is still time to apply for tickets, either for yourself or to make up a table (8-12 people). I will put 1,2,3,4s together.
If you have applied, and sent your cheque then you should have received your tickets – please let me know if you haven’t had them yet.
If you have not yet let me have the names of your guest/s please do so by the beginning of next week (23rd October). I need time to compile the table plan and time for it to be printed.
The menu this year is:
Sea bass gravlax, smoked haddock and leek tart, red pepper confit and capers tomato sauce
Slow roasted pork chop, green apple choucroute, mashed potatoes and grain mustard mushroom sauce
Baked lemon tart, mascarpone cream, orange scented berry compote
Coffee and tea, Petit fours
