An Illustrated Talk by David Lambroughton – Wednesday 8th May, 2013
Still places left for the talk on Wednesday 8th May. 6.30pm for 7pm Please phone or email if you would like to attend. Guests most welcome.
David Lambroughton is one of the world’s leading fishing photographers and is visiting the UK next week.
He has very kindly offered to come along and give one of his excellent illustrated talks in the Club.
His photographs conjure up nice blends of bewilderment and envy. They often make you want to get the hell away from where you might be currently working.
David grew up in California, graduating from San Jose University in 1976. Immediately after graduation, he headed to the Fall River and a life-changing summer tying flies and guiding for Rick’s Lodge. From 1976 to 1988, he worked as a full-time guide in locales that included Oregon, California, Montana, Idaho, Alaska, and British Columbia, carrying a camera throughout it all. He now travels and fishes all over the globe, writing and collecting images for his annual Fly Fishing Dreams Calendar. He has fished and taken pictures with John Goddard and Charles Jardine amongst others, and shares fishing spots with some Members in NZ.
David is an amusing speaker and is happy to answer questions and give individual advice over a drink afterwards.
The talk will start at 7pm and will be followed by dinner. Tickets (£65) include the talk, dinner and wines. Lounge suits. Please email the Club or telephone if you would like to come.
