Winter Programme 2014
Please make a note of the dates below.
Club Dining and President’s Dining Nights – Next date is Tuesday 4th February
Please note that the Club is open in the evening, as well as at lunchtime, for drinks and dinner. The same format as lunchtimes applies and Members are encouraged to drop in any weekday evening. If you find the Club has been pre-booked for a private party, you are most welcome to use the Savile Dining Room and their Bar.
During February and March on the first Tuesday of the month, dinner will be hosted by either the President or a Past-President. This is an ideal time to bring along a guest who is considering membership or just to come along by yourself and catch up with old friends. No booking needed, but please be ready to sit down for dinner at 8pm.
There was a full table of 16 at our January Dinner .
Winter Talks 2014 all start at 7pm and cost £65 per person (guests most welcome)
A full programme of talks has been arranged for next year.
Wednesday 22nd January – A talk with Steve Edge. Infinitely inspired by Rudyard Kipling’s poem ‘The Golden Mahseer’, branding guru Steve Edge has travelled the world in search of the greatest fishing experiences. From pond hunting to wading through canals, from the extreme cold of Russia to the heat of India, Steve has plenty of stories to tell. Join us for an evening of tips and tales from surely one of the very few men to have ever been hit by an iceberg.
Thursday 13th February – FATHERS, SONS and DAUGHTERS DINNER – This is open to all fathers, sons, daughters, nephews, nieces, godchildren, grandchildren (over 16 please) and sons and daughters-in-law. If they have an interest in fishing, even better, but they may just enjoy an evening at the Club.
Cost is £65 for father and £50 for the offspring. Dress is black tie, 7pm for 7.45pm
Tuesday 25th February – Dr John Smith will speak on ‘The Edited Highlights of the Medical Hazards of Fly Fishing’.
Tuesday 25th March – Adrian Latimer will talk on fishing in Patagonia.
Friday 4th April – WEST COUNTRY DINNER at the Arundell Arms, Lifton, Devon. This is a popular dinner in a beautiful hotel. Members receive a special room for the accommodation and there is plenty of fishing locally for those who wish to make a weekend of it. The Arundell Arms will be happy to help arrange this for you.
